I’m Sally and I live in Kidderminster, Worcestershire. I am married with a grown-up daughter who has now vacated the family home to leave me with my own designated sewing room. I work PArtine time as a CSO locally.
I joined Cherished Gowns in January like many others, amazed at the work many were doing to support families at such a traumatic time. Starting as a knitter, making blankets, hats and Booties, it wasn’t long before I was inspired to rekindle my sewing skills. Whilst it was nerve racking to start, the achievement was worth it and I have now completed 3 dresses. Certainly, having Carolyn Harper as a fellow volunteer has helped, as we support each other on things we are unsure about, bouncing design ideas off each other with both sewing and woollies. I have now been encouraged to learn Crochet to add another string to my bow.
