Hi, I’m Carolyn, a married mother of two grown daughters living in Kidderminster, rural Worcestershire. I am currently not working after redundancy, although I am working on trying to set up my own Book keeping business working from home. I am also A Club Welfare officer for a local, mainly female football club.
I first discovered Cherished in January 2016 when Yvonne Trimble’s Viral post came to my attention. Having looked at the website, with a lot of tears, I thought “I can help here, I can Crochet”. Having volunteered my friend Sally Lacey was also interested and is now also a contributor as well. In fact I wasn’t going to sew as it had been 40 years plus since I had sewn, but Sally was the one who encouraged me to have a go and the rest is history. I have to-date completed 3 dresses and my confidence has grown considerably with the group’s support, Sally and I are continually swapping stash items and Ideas. It is an honour to be part of this family of volunteers, despite the emotional and sad nature of what we do, I love it and if it brings comfort to just one family it is well worth it.
