Cherished Gowns UK angel gowns for angel babies

I have sewn as a hobby for many years. In January I saw a post in my newsfeed about Cherished Gowns and knew I wanted to volunteer. I love being part of this group and helping to create the beautiful packs. Sometimes it can be an emotional task but I know these packs, created by our "Cherished Family" give much comfort to parents at a time of great sadness.

I also volunteer two days a week for a local charity where I organise trips out for our more elderly residents, and am currently busy putting together next years calendar of events

Denise was pleased when after doing the transformation she received this from the Bride Donator:

Hi Denise

Thank you for letting me know it's arrived. I hadn't thought of the chemicals, but now you mention it, that makes sense.

I think what you're doing is absolutely wonderful and I feel so pleased to donate my dress. We were completely broke when we got married, and the dress was in the sale at Monsoon for £100, but it meant so much to me, which was why I couldn't bear to give it to a charity shop. It made me sad to see it just sitting in a box on top of the wardrobe, so it would be wonderful if it can go towards something that will offer a scrap of comfort to grieving parents.

Denise, thank you so much for sending me these photos, and it's lovely to see what goes into a complete pack. The gowns you've made are absolutely beautiful, and seeing the 'honour gowns' brought a tear to my eye. What an amazing job you've done!  Thank you again for letting me see these pictures – I admire what you're doing enormously.

Very best wishes,

Cherished Gowns say:

Our volunteers love these messages and we all share them, when you see what Denise did you can see why the brides are so thrilled
