Cherished Volunteer Jo Barber
I learnt to sew for Cherished. I was part of the same 'Brides 2014' Facebook page as a fellow member and as soon as I heard what she was setting up, I knew I had to get involved. My mum miscarried, as did a friend of mine, who has said that she was heartbroken that she had nothing for her baby to wear. I learnt basic sewing at school, but that was a long time ago! With the help and patience of several group members, I learnt how to do nappies and wraps (my own wedding dress went towards these!). As a young marketing professional, I am limited to sewing at weekends so I concentrate on these as I can do them quickly and well, and as you can see, I rope my husband into cutting large pieces of fabric! I also enjoy combining my hobbies – watching tennis and cutting out nappies is a very effective mix!

When we send a hospital pack all gowns size Tiny to Large have a nappy and we send twenty wraps in a pack so Jo's makes are much needed, here are some pictures including Jo's husband cutting out for Cherished
